Historex Figures
1. Introduction
Military figures are out of range of my collecting activity.
Nontheless I present some examples of the Historex figures here
to complement the company history of the
Aeros aircaft kits. I confess I like the design and concept
of these kits and would collect them if they were not confined
to military subjects. From what I have seen so far they are of
an excellent quality.
So I will not collect these figures. This pages serves only to
have an explanation of Historex figures, which are
mentioned in the Aeros page.
I'm currently (March 2015) updating all pages of this
websitesite . That implies mostly standardizing the format
and eliminating programming bugs. This is to the expense of
updating this page with new findings.
Regarding sources I refer to the
Notes Section of
the Aeros aircraft kits as a start. Historex and Aeros are
linked via Ateilier de Gravure. The sources overlap, which
justifies this approach for a while.
2. History
The history of Historex figures traces back to Ateilier de Gravure, Paris, which
designed and manufactured the moulds for the renowned
Mokarex figures from
1953-1962. The figures were premium give-aways from the Mokarex
coffee supplier.
After Mokarex stopped their distribution of these give-aways in
1962, Ateilier de Gravure, launched their own series of
historical figures with the brand
HISTOREX in 1963. The company name
may have changed from Ateilier de Gravure to Aeros S.A. or a new
company was founded. My sources do not state this unambiguously
(see also header card, picture right). On the instruction
sheet of the (later) boxed issue there is printed
"Historex Aeros S.A.", ( see pictre below right).
By 1990 the Historex brand name had been sold and in 1991 the
manufacturer ceased trading. In 1992 the new owners Christian
Sauve´s company ADV established
NCO Historex and
resumed production.
NCO stands for "Nouvelle Compagnie d´Origine".
