Mokarex
1. Introduction
Don´t be surprised to find figures in an aviation
enthusiast´s kit collection. I encountered this series of
figures from Mokarex on my research on the French
Aeros aircraft kits. Instead
of referring to an external page in the history of Aeros I
decided to buy some examples of the Mokarex figures and
compile sme nformation abot Mokarex.
I must confess, I like these figures especially as they also
model civil themes and personalities. I think I will start
to collect them, even as an aviation enthusiast.
I'm currently (March 2015) updating all pages of this
websitesite. That implies mostly standardizing the format
and eliminating
programming bugs. The content of this page is not up to
date.
This is to the expense of updating this page with new
findings.
Regarding sources for section 2.2 I refer to the
Notes Section of
the Aeros aircraft kits as a start. Mokarex and Aeros are
linked via Ateilier de Gravure. The sources overlap, which
justifies this approah for a while.
2. Compilation of data for a history and review of
Mokarex figures.
2.1
Mokarex of France did a vast collection of French
Historical themes and personalities. These items were part
of a big marketing strategy from the coffee roaster Mokarex as premium giveaways. The campaign was so
successful that the free gift became the product and the
product was the free gift. They are made of hard plastic.
They have the identity of the figure on the front of the
base and the year on the reverse side. All of them on the
underside of the base will have the Mokarex logo name
inscribed. Some of the figures come with a separate
accessory that would have to be glued to the figure. The
true color is a dull gold metallic. They also were produced
in a dull silver metallic and white plastic. These are
highly detailed figures and great for painters. All of them
originally came unpainted [source: e-mail contact with ric-b

2.2
Atelier de Gravure, founded by Rene Gillet, and Pierre and
Jaques Fualdes designed and manufactured the moulds for the
figures. They figures were moulded by Mokarex themselves.
The company name may have changed from Ateilier de Gravure
to Aeros S.A. My sources do not state this
unambiguously (see History in
HISTOREX page ).
Mokarex figures were produced between 1953 and 1962 .
In 1963 Atelier de Gravure launched their own series of
historical figures with the brand
HISTOREX.
