Introduction
In October 2013 I came across the SUNIL Seabee on a search for French kits
(picture1, right).
Being one of those aircraft I collect just for the type it was
clear to aquire it. Looking for more SUNIL kits I found they had a somehow compelling boxart like the Me-109F and the
Cutlass
( pictures 2 and 3).
I learned that the the moulds came from
Lindberg and originated from from
Hobbytime and
Trim-Pak.
[ 1 ] The
more I got involved, the more I got interested and I opened this
page.
History and Range of Kits
The following table of SUNIL kits is based on data from John Burns in PAK-10
[ 2 ]. John Burns tells us, that SUNIL offered these aircraft kits
as premiums during the 1960's. Some were bagged and others were
boxed. The kits are indicated as ex-Lindberg, ex-Hobbytime and
ex-Trim.
Additionally I found two rockets, which I ad to the list.
Acording to [ 3 ] the SUNIL kits were first offered as premiums in 1960.
Earliest advertisment I found so far was in a 1960 issue of the
French magazine
PILOTE
