Model International (Duve und Schultz OHG,
Mörfelden-Walldorf) was founded in 1974 as a
mailorder company for 1/43 carmodels and
model kits. They expanded in making their
own 1/43 white-metal kits and became the
distributor for the Spanish made 1/87 EKO
models [EKO
aircraft , too ?] .
In 1981, the company was reformed into Duve
GmbH and, because the quality of the
white-metal kits could not keep up with the
quality of mass-produced injection moulded
plastic models, decided to start making
models in plastic. The first plastic models
were available under the PreP
(Pre-Praline)
name in 1981.
The first Praline models came onto
the market in 1982. 1991 Praline
relocated to St. Georgen and moved to
Schönheide in 1993. In 1994 Praline
was taken over by
Busch.
(Abstract of history
told in 87thScale.info
[1] )
Modell International issued two
FISCHER kits:
87-112001 VW Karman Ghia II (
Bag ,
parts [1] )
87-112002 VW Karman Ghia II with glider
and trailer
The glider has the
FISCHER kit No. FM 1 moulded into the
fuselage (see picture below )
the car has the kit No.FM 2 moulded in the
bottom plate [1]
.
I
I have a Model International catalogue of
unknown date which lists the two kits under
the FISCHER label .Maybe they first
distributed them but later produced them
themselves from the FISCHER moulds.
Obviously BUSCH after taking over Model
International inherited the moulds and
produced their
own glider sets.
