Revell Odd Scale Kits I Remember

These are the Revell kits I remember to have had in my second phase of modelling. They are odd scale ( box-scale)  kits as opposed to the WW1 and WW2 fighters of constant 1/72 scale of my third phase of modelling.

When in 2003 I started collecting kits I remember to have built in my youth the XSL-01 Space Ship, the helicopter Sikorsky HO4S, the Bell X-5, the Cobra II racer, the aircraft carrier Essex, and the historical ship Bounty came to my mind immediately.

A small uncertainity arises as the names of the aircraft carriers Essex and  Bonne Homme Richard both sound very familiar to me. Nontheless I maintain to have built the Essex aircraft carrier and may have got aquiainted with the then rather unfanmiliar but conspicious name Bonne Homme Richard from a later catalogue.

Another uncertainity about the issue, but not with the type, arises with the Bounty. The first thought is that I had the 1960's issue with furled sails, but there is a small probability that I had the 1950's issue without sails. Comparing the boxarts I tend to the 1960' issue, too

Opposite to all kits listed above the Skywarrior only came to my mind sometime in mid 2014. Browsing the 1961 Observer's Book of Aircraft I came accross the Douglas Skywarrior depicted with a wonderful inflight photo similar to that . Suddenly it came to my mind, that I had the Skywarrior as a Revell kit, too, in gey plastic. I remembered clearly the ball mounting of the remotedly controlled gun turret in the tail and the appearance of the engine inlets.  I do not know if I had the original 1957 issue or the 1961 re-issue. So I will show both variants as with the ships.

Remark: Dates of issue accordig to Graham [1 ] if not otherwise stated.
