The original "S" models from the 1950´s are
characterized by
A mark " Use Revell 's' Type Cement" on the the side panels of
the box.
Rigid boxes. Paper printed with box-art is wrapped around the
side
panels

Selected Subjects Program (SSP) reissues of 1950´s "S"
kits in the 1990s are characterized by
- An additional copyright mark on a side panel of the box
(Sample: Honest John Missile H-1821-169).
- No "S" mark.
- Fold-down boxes, boxart printed directly on thin cardboard
box, instead on separate paper glued and wrapped around
rigid boxes .
- Aditional (1996) copyright data on side panel
